On Tuesday, November 15th, DTRT nominees from select schools were able to experience one-on-one time with their assigned Officer Do Right at the Dine with Officer Do Right launch event at the McDonald’s located on 8116 Biscayne Boulevard. Twenty-two students enjoyed a delicious Happy Meal provided by McDonald’s with four Officer Do Rights from Miami Police and Miami-Dade Schools Police departments. The students also met Ronald McDonald who provided fun and entertainment with magic tricks, juggling, music, and dancing. Following lunch, each student was presented with their DTRT prizes by their assigned Officer and a certificate of recognition from McDonald’s. They also got the opportunity to spin the Officer Do Right prize wheel for a chance to win goodies such as erasers, free Happy Meal cards, DTRT pencils, and more. Each month of the school year, 20 Officer Do Rights will come armed with DTRT prizes and McDonald’s Happy Meals to their assigned schools where they will not only recognize those students who were nominated for doing the right thing, but will also foster positive interactions between youths and police.
