Giuliana Marrero
Tenth Grade, Miami Springs Senior High
Washington, D.C. Trip Winner
Jordyn and Giuliana walked into the girls’ bathroom and noticed that a student was laying on the floor inside the stall. Both Jordyn and Giuliana tried shaking the student’s legs and asking the student if everything was okay. After not getting any response, Jordyn crawled under the stall to open the door. There was vomit all over the toilet and the student was completely unresponsive. Jordyn stayed with the student while Giuliana ran out to look for help and they both later stayed with the student until the ambulance arrived. Thanks to their quick action the student received medical assistance and was saved. Giuliana is a cheerleader and part of the Science Honor Society and has also volunteered many hours at the Poinciana United Methodist Church and enjoys tutoring elementary students and drawing. Jordyn and Giuliana consistently do the right thing and were able to handle a difficult situation with maturity and quick thinking which resulted in a life being saved.
