Meghana Mamidoju
Twelfth Grade, Ronald Reagan Doral Senior High
Meghana arrived to the U.S. in 2012 and is currently one of the few Indian students at her school where most students recently arrived from South America, making it difficult to communicate with her peers. Meghana has faced various medical challenges such as a chronic lung condition and has undergone several surgeries in addition to infusion treatments that must be done every day. Despite these challenges, she is thriving academically and is Vice President of the FCCLA, is part of the Chess Club, Math Club, Color Guard and Interact. In addition, she volunteers her time through Project Paradigm to raise awareness to protect marine life. She enjoys nature, dancing, and cooking, with this being her 4th year in the Culinary Program as she gets one step closer to fulfilling her dream of becoming a chef. Meghana is also passionate about uniting students of different cultural backgrounds, promoting kindness and respect for all and is devoted to making her school a No Place For Hate Zone. Despite the obstacles she’s faced, Meghana is sure to continue persevering.
