Recently Sarai came to the office seeking assistance. Her heart was torn
as she would be breaking her friend’s trust but she knew she couldn’t
keep this secret. She reported that her friend was enduring an abusive
situation at home and was fearful of what would happen next. Sarai
made the right choice in notifying administration and the appropriate
interventions were put in place and the appropriate agencies were
contacted to make sure that her friend would be safe. Sarai was brave
and knew that doing the right thing meant making her friend’s safety a
priority.
