Lucas Giraldo

Lucas knows when it’s time to speak up and do the right thing. He noticed that some classmates that were part of his group, began participating in racist hate speech. Lucas made sure to intervene and call out the bullies while reporting the incident to the school. Despite the peer pressure and repercussions with the group, Lucas knew he had to speak up. At school, Lucas is an excellent student who is part of the French magnet program and was accepted into the Honor Society. He also recently completed a triathlon and placed first in his group. Lucas has had to overcome significant personal obstacles in his life but throughout it all, he maintained a positive attitude and
focused on persevering. Lucas is an admirable young man who
demonstrates what it means to be a good citizen and do the right thing.
