Sophia Murray
Sixth Grade, Shenandoah Middle
Recently, Sophia entered class and noticed her friend was crying and in serious distress. Sophia, being a concerned friend, rushed to her friend’s aid. Her friend confided she was having issues at home with a family member and that it had really been affecting her. Sophia immediately asked the teacher if she could escort her friend to the counselor’s office so she could get the help she needs. Sophia not only demonstrated compassion during a time when her friend needed her the most, but she also serves as a shining example of what it means to be a true friend.
