Just a few days later, on an early morning before school, Melanie was approached by another classmate who was experiencing a mental health crisis leading to an urgent medical emergency. Without hesitation, Melanie encouraged her to seek help and personally escorted her to the office, ensuring that a counselor spoke with her right away. Life-saving interventions were implemented and the student was taken to the hospital to recover. Melanie is a true hero and due to her courage and quick thinking, a life was saved.
