Orlando Alvarez

Orlando took it upon himself to help a special needs student that was being bullied by other students during breakfast in the cafeteria. He saw the other students taking the student’s items and verbally harassing him. He then came to the student’s aid and made sure he retrieved his items and that he was ok. He took it a step further and asked the student to meet him during PE class so he would not be alone. This action was very meaningful for the student as he has difficulty making friends and defending himself. By stepping up on behalf of a fellow classmate, Orlando made a difference in the life of this student and serves as an example for his peers to follow.
