On November 4, Rami woke up to his apartment building on fire. It was the middle of the night as he and his family ran out of their apartment in their pajamas along with other confused and scared neighbors. As everyone gathered in the parking lot downstairs, Rami noticed that a neighbor was missing. It turned out that the missing neighbor’s apartment was where the fire had originated. Rami, along with three other neighbors, ran back into the burning building, into the apartment with flames coming out of the front door to save a disabled retired police officer. Firefighters were able to put the fire out by 4:00 am and Rami reported to school at 7:15 am so that he would not miss an important event happening with his JROTC cadets. A true hero, not even flames will stop Rami from doing the right thing.
