Abby Meyreles

Abby demonstrated outstanding courage, empathy, and responsibility when she recently came forward to report concerns about a peer who was experiencing hardships at home and expressed fear for that student’s safety. Recognizing that something was not right, Abby chose to speak up rather than stay silent. Her actions showed maturity beyond her years, as well as a deep sense of care for others. It is not always easy for students to involve adults in sensitive situations, but she understood the importance of ensuring her friend received the help and support they needed. Because of Abby’s willingness to do the right thing, the school’s administration was able to respond appropriately and provide support and resources to the student. Abby’s bravery and compassion made a meaningful difference and reflect the values of a Do The Right Thing Winner.
