Sophia Bugarim

Sophia is a powerful force for good in our community. She is the Co- Founder and Executive Director of “Rise Her” which is a youth-led nonprofit dedicated to empowering girls in shelters and underserved schools through mentorship, leadership workshops, and acts of kindness. Sophia has recently organized a workshop for young girls and conducted confidence building and socialization activities with the middle school aged girls who participated. Sophia is partnering with the Lotus House Women’s Shelter in downtown Miami to host events for the children focused on empowerment, empathy, and leadership for the young girls who are living there with their mothers who are unhoused. This is just one of Sophia’s service projects and the reason why she was presented with the Rotary Youth Leadership Award last year. Sophia is a true role model dedicated to making a lasting impact on our community.
