Amos Young

Third Grade, Colonial Drive Elementary

Amos noticed a student engaged in inappropriate activity on one of the
school laptops during instruction time and immediately reported the
incident to his teacher who immediately reported to the administration.
The laptop and student were brought to the principal and upon
questioning, it was found that the student was in a dangerous situation
and needed immediate intervention. By Amos coming forward, this
student will receive much needed assistance. At home, Amos assists his
great grandmother with her medication, her walker, and sets up her
bed every day. At school, he loves talking to his school’s resource
officers and would one day like to become a detective. Amos knows that
part of doing the right thing is speaking up so that others are able to
receive the help they need.
