Cathy Perez

Cathy showed extraordinary bravery and leadership when she stepped in to stop a dangerous situation where an older student was physically assaulting a younger student on the school bus. She witnessed a fourth-grade student choking a kindergarten student, who was struggling to breathe. Without hesitation, Cathy intervened by pushing the older student away, ensuring the safety of the younger child. Her quick thinking and courage prevented further harm, proving her to be a true hero. As an additional example of her bravery and commitment to safety, Cathy also serves as a safety patrol and is a shining example of leadership at her school. Her willingness to take immediate action to protect others, even while putting herself in harm’s way, demonstrates her strong character and sense of responsibility, making her a great role model for her peers.
