Twelfth Grade, School for Advanced Studies Wolfson Campus.
Daniel and Shaan founded “Melody in the Community”, an initiative focused on bringing the joy of playing a musical
instrument to underprivileged children at the Lotus House for
homeless women and children in downtown Miami. Daniel was
inspired by the Venezuelan program "El Sistema," which
provides classical music education to impoverished individuals,
and saw an opportunity to create meaningful change locally after
witnessing the hardships of poverty first hand in his homeland.
Through this initiative, Daniel and Shaan, along with their team of
volunteers, have taught over 50 children how to play various
instruments, fostering creativity and providing a positive outlet
amidst difficult circumstances. “Melody in the Community” reflects Daniel’s and Shaan’s vision of using music education to
uplift and empower children in need.
