Layla Diaz

Layla noticed her friend was sad and was physically unwell. Recognizing the severity of the situation, Layla immediately notified a teacher that her friend was struggling and suffering from self-harming activities and that she was worried for her. As a result of Layla’s observation and quick response, the counselor was called and immediate assistance was provided to the student in crisis who is now doing much better and getting the help she needs. Throughout the ordeal, Layla stayed with her friend, comforting her until help arrived. Layla demonstrated remarkable compassion, thoughtfulness, and emotional intelligence in a difficult situation.
