Margaret Lehrhoff
Kindergarten, Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor K-8 Center
Margaret is a kind, intelligent, and brave student who is always looking for ways to help others. Even though she is just in kindergarten, she’s already showing what it means to be responsible and knows it’s important to look out for her classmates and take action when something’s wrong. Recently during lunch, Margaret noticed something wasn’t right. Her friend was having trouble breathing and looked really scared. Instead of getting scared herself or ignoring the problem, Margaret quickly took action and ran to a lunch monitor and told them what was happening. Because of Margaret’s quick thinking, her friend got the help they needed right away. Margaret’s actions demonstrate how brave and caring she is as even though she might have been scared and unsure, she did not hesitate to help a friend. She showed compassion and maturity beyond her years and is always ready to help others with kindness and courage. Margaret’s example reminds us that even small actions can make a big difference.
