Maria Rengifo-Arenas

Estefania and Maria have displayed empathy and compassion for another student in their class who recently and unexpectedly lost her mother. For the past several months, this student has been having a very difficult time adjusting to such a loss and is heavy in the grief process. Estefania and Maria not only help this student complete her assignments and stay on track, but they make sure she knows she is never alone. Both have provided consistent friendship and emotional support in order to help this student cope and process her grief. Estefania and Maria serve as model students who not only demonstrate compassion and care, but also exemplify what it means to be a true friend.
