Melanie Morillo

Melanie was made aware of a student attempting to commit suicide and immediately told an adult to seek help for the student. The student’s parents were contacted and interventions were put in place to assist the student in crisis. Melanie was very brave and strong during a difficult time and was able to put her emotions aside to save her friend’s life. At school, she is part of the school’s volleyball team and sings in the band. At home, she strives to be a positive role model for her younger sister. Melanie displayed true friendship and is a young woman who knows how to do the right thing both in and out of the classroom.
