Michelle Cabrera
Tenth Grade, MAST Academy at Homestead
Michelle is a great student who is very active at her school participating in Drama Club, Interact, SECME, HOSA, and the Hispanic Honor Society. She also actively contributes to her community by volunteering over 210 hours to various causes. Recently, Michelle noticed someone had started a social media page that encouraged bullying by posting inappropriate comments about students at her school. She was concerned for the well-being of her peers and immediately reported the page. Thanks to Michelle coming forward, the page was taken down. Michelle knows the importance of seeing something and saying something and her actions helped support a safer school environment for all.
