Natasha Harris

Eleventh Grade, School for Advanced Studies North Campus

Natasha has been serving on the NAACP Youth Council and attending weekly meetings since the beginning of this school year. In that role she seeks to become part of the next generation of civil rights leaders and advocate for African Americans in our community. Through her involvement with the Youth Council, Natasha informs about problems affecting African Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities. She is active in the community having co-led a Thanksgiving activity benefitting students at Brentwood Elementary, helped purchase gift cards for students at Carol City High for Christmas, participated in a kickball tournament with Miami Gardens Police, and was part of a joint effort to advocate for a bill in our state legislature to combat hate crimes through a group called “Teens Advocating Together”. Natasha is a true leader among her peers.
