Nayeli Fontil

Nayeli is a remarkable young lady who consistently works hard
and is always willing to assist her classmates. Though she is
naturally quiet, Nayeli has embraced a leadership role with
confidence and respect, fostering a positive and cooperative
classroom environment. Recently, she overheard a classmate
bullying another student, which deeply troubled her. Without
hesitation, she calmly addressed the situation, telling the student
that they were being hurtful and suggested apologizing. When the
classmate refused and began directing hurtful comments toward
both Nayeli and the other student, Nayeli reported the incident to
her teacher who then spoke with the student and the student
apologized. Nayeli demonstrated exceptional courage and integrity
by standing up for her classmate and seeking help when needed.
She embodied the role of an upstander, speaking out against
mistreatment and promoting kindness in the classroom.
