Saina Soroushiani

Saina is passionate about taking action to prevent youth from becoming involved with illegal drugs. As such, she became involved with One Voice Youth Coalition for the past several years, serving as their Chair today. The One Voice Youth Coalition hosts events at least once a month for the purpose of providing activities and resources for kids in the community to steer them away from drug use. In September at one of the group’s events, Saina got to know a young girl who said her mother got violent with her when the mother was using drugs and alcohol. Saina was able to talk to this young girl and offer her resources to report abuse and also direct her towards therapy for her and her mother. Two months later, the girl came back and reported that because of Saina’s guidance, her mother was now undergoing rehabilitation treatment. Saina was able to make a real difference in the life of this young lady and looks forward to continue to offer hope for those most vulnerable in our community.
