Samira Matutebarek

Samira spoke up for a classmate that was being bullied and being physically hit by another student. Her classmate did not want to tell the teacher because he felt uncomfortable telling on his friend even though his friend was harming him. While Samira understood the complexity of the situation, she knew she had to do something for the safety of her classmate. She waited until class was over and reported the incident to administration. Samira displayed courage by speaking up and intervening in a bullying situation to ensure her fellow peers were kept safe.
