Selena exhibited exceptional courage and responsibility by reporting a serious concern regarding self-harm among her peers. She came forward to the school counselor to disclose that several girls were cutting their arms, providing vital information that allowed for immediate intervention. Selena’s empathy was clear, as she explained that she understood the severity of this behavior and why it needed to stop immediately. She emphasized the urgency of the situation by noting that one of the students was showing her cuts to others and actively encouraging this dangerous behavior in her classmates. Selena’s decision to speak up, despite the personal discomfort and potential social ramifications, prioritized the immediate safety and well-being of her peers, truly embodying what it means to do the right thing.
