Recently during dismissal on a Friday afternoon, Emy and Sofia stood up for a classmate and reported the bullying they witnessed promptly to administration. Instead of going home, they acted quickly and stayed to report the incident. Emy and Sofia witnessed a group of students bullying a younger child with special needs who was recovering from a broken arm. They witnessed students throwing his backpack down the stairs, scattering his belongings. They immediately came to the student’s aid and made sure he was able to leave safely. They then took it a step further and advocated for the student upon reporting the incident as they wanted to make sure the child was safe moving forward. Emy and Sofia showed empathy, compassion, and courage and are definitely not afraid to do the right thing.
