Do The Right Thing (DTRT) is pleased to announce a new initiative, the Adopt-A-School Program, in conjunction with the MPD Mounted Unit.  The purpose of Adopt-A-School is to link MPD officers, deemed Officer “Do Rights,” and City of Miami students in a positive way utilizing the Do The Right Thing Program.  Once a month, participating officers from Mounted will deliver and present prizes provided by DTRT to nominees at select City of Miami schools.  Students nominated by their schools for “doing the right thing” will be recognized and rewarded at their schools by Officer “Do Right” and receive DTRT t-shirts, bumper stickers, letters from Chief Orosa, and personalized certificates. In starting the Adopt-A-School Program, Do The Right Thing hopes to generate more student nominations, foster positive relationships between police officers and students in the City of Miami, and project a positive image of MPD officers in our community.
